Alex Sterling, RCC, MA, Counselling Psych
Cultivating authentic connections with people and using my expertise to support them on a human-to-human level is what drew me to the counselling profession. What sustains me in this career is the honour and privilege of working alongside people during some of the most painful periods of their lives - I believe that to share one’s pain and imperfections with another person requires the utmost courage. Finally, what truly makes this work fulfilling is that I get to help people move through their suffering to a place of greater overall wellbeing. We each have our own stories, strengths, and wounds, but I believe we also share some common human experiences that link us to each other. One of the greatest shared experiences that we as humans have is the pursuit of healthy, loving relationships. That is one of the reasons why I find work with couples so inspiring and rewarding.
